Hi all! Lets talk about the significant of the 3rd house in Vedic Astrology. The 3rd house of Vedic Astrology signifies travelling, the level of achievement of human in life, younger brothers or sisters, father in-laws, communication ability, ability to own vehicle, braveness or courage and many others. But still, it is considered as malefic house by Vedic Astrology. Why it so? This is because third house is located 12th from the 4th house which signifies domestic happiness of human. Besides that, due to its malefic effect during dasa period. For instant, during the dasa of third lord, people forced to travel frequently which cause tiredness and unpleasant experiences for human. Basically, the level of comfortableness during travelling is decided by the existence of malefic or benefic planets in the 3rd house. Third lord running dasa may also create situation to use more physical strength either in positive or negative way depends on the strength of third house in vedic chart. But still the importance of third house may not be ignored. As explained earlier, good strength of third house needed to make achievement and progressiveness in life. Third house also tend to give determination to human to uplift the individual status in society. Through my observation of hundreds of vedic charts, without the strength of third house, human may not progress in life even by the help of other on going favourable dasa. Third house is considered in good strength when,
1. Third lord not placed in any dusthana houses ( 6th,8th and 12th )
2. Third lord not in own house and afflicted by malefic and dusthana
lords.
3. Existence of benefic planets in third house.
4. Third house or third lord not aspected by malefic planets or dusthana
lords.
5. Third lord placed strong ( not in dusthana placement ) and
conjuncted or aspected with benefic planets.
Above are some of fundamental methods to analyze the strength of third house.
